The Faculty of Health Sciences building at the University of Ottawa's Lees Campus is a cutting-edge facility. This expansive facility project, unites the university's five health science schools—Nursing, Nutrition Sciences, Rehabilitation Sciences, Human Kinetics, and Interdisciplinary Health Sciences. The design encourages interdisciplinary collaboration and vibrant student engagement. Equipped with more than 45 classrooms and teaching labs, along with 20 specialized research labs, the building supports a wide range of health science studies. Architecturally, the building integrates Indigenous design elements and is surrounded by green spaces with views of the Rideau River, emphasizing sustainability and environmental integration. It features flexible, technology-enabled spaces designed to adapt to future educational and research needs. The sustainable design is targeting LEED Platinum certification, employing strategies to optimize energy use and maximize natural light.
