The A49 - CGA consortium with SNC-Lavalin were mandated to design and build a Health Services Centre at the Canadian Forces’ St-Jean Garrison. This two-storey building, with an area of approximately 7,200 m², is designed to provide primary care medical services supported by some basic specialized and diagnostic services as well as dental services.
The new care centre is designed to provide functional and quality spaces for users. In close collaboration with the client, an ergonomic and efficient layout was elaborated to meet the specific needs of the health centre, which aims to examine, treat and train large groups of recruits at the same time. Great attention has been paid to the provision of natural light in the circulation, waiting and consultation areas through which recruits must pass, in order to create a pleasant and conducive environment. This project is aimed at obtaining LEED® Silver certification.
