The Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC) is one of Canada’s leading providers of applied research, development and demonstration and technology commercialization. Their Environmental Analytical Laboratory at the Innovation Place technology park, adjacent to the University of Saskatchewan campus, is a complete analytical chemistry laboratory providing environmental test services and expertise in organics, inorganics and radiochemistry.
Architecture49 was responsible for design and construction phase services for the renovation of three floors of an existing building for the Environmental Analytical Laboratory, in order to consolidate operations from multiple locations. The project included demolition and decommissioning of existing space and the renovation of the same to provide laboratories and offices, as well as the construction of a new entrance and three storey elevator. Services included functional programing, concept design, construction documents, and a capital cost estimate for the 3 365 m² renovation.
