The Royal Canadian Dragoons (RCD) is the senior armoured regiment of the Canadian Army by precedence. It is one of three armoured regiments in the Regular Force and forms part of the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps.
Replacing outdated and underutilized infrastructure, the centralized Royal Canadian Dragoons facility saw the renovation of two existing buildings, and the replacement of seven obsolete buildings with a single, centralized building. The updated building offers modern facilities with enhanced vehicle maintenance, storage, logistics, and training areas to increase collaboration and support daily operations.
The RCD project was delivered under an Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) Model. With IPD guiding principles, from project on-set, the integrated project team comprised of consultants, trades and client representatives working together with a target value objective with the right to an equal vote at the table on each critical path issue on the project. The result of this high level of collaboration is a program of new and existing buildings that was completed ahead of schedule and under budget in a positive setting.
