The building is anchored by a festival plaza providing a gateway that honors the site’s natural amenities and heritage. In keeping with accessibility, a simple floor plan that links major spaces in the building, easily guides users through the space. The pedestrian spine of the building provides views to the aquatic centre, spectator and community ice rinks, which are also used for lacrosse competitions and the multi-use gymnasium. Other program areas of the building include fitness facilities, the Terry Fox Library, multi-purpose rooms, senior centre, lounges, child minding spaces, leisure pool, administration areas, concessions area and a spacious outdoor plaza.
