Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology (MITT) is the only provincial institution with a unique hybrid mandate to offer senior years technical education while simultaneously offering post-secondary certificates and diplomas to a range of learners.
Our work on MITT’s Multi-Campus Site Master Plan included a space inventory assessment of over 155,000 sq. ft. on four campuses, functional program assessment, overview of existing buildings and facilities, future space projection requirements (completed by Educational Consulting Services), strategic visioning and phasing implementation, and a master plan report complete with comprehensive analysis and graphic renderings.
The 7,000 sq ft Welding Shop vocational training facility is a significant addition to the MITT Henlow campus. It consists of a welding shop and a flexible trades space, grinding room, related classroom space, lockers, office and support spaces. The facility is designed to: maximize safety, short and long-term flexibility, maximize energy efficiency and provide a cost effective durable long-term facility that attracts new students and industry to the facility.
