The Flin Flon Emergency Department is a 1 163 m² (12,520 sq. ft.) addition to the existing Flin Flon General Hospital and a renovation to the existing admitting department of 135 m² (1,453 sq. ft.). A new Main Entrance is provided to the Hospital and a new partial ground floor under the addition will host all Electrical and Mechanical services for the Emergency Department. A partial crawlspace is provided under the remainder of the space.
Phased, major upgrades to site infrastructure, landscaping and parking are required in order to maintain the existing department and main entrance door operational during construction. The new department will have a new two Ambulance Garage and decontamination area, Major Resuscitation Room, Major Procedure Room, four observation / SCU Rooms, Safe Room, Isolation Room, three Minor Treatment Rooms, IV Therapy Room and support spaces.
