Slush Puppie Centre

Gatineau, Quebec

The project consists in the design and construction of a sports complex that includes a multi-purpose arena for 4,000 spectators, built to Quebec Major Junior League Hockey (QMJHL) standards, with 34 corporate boxes and all necessary facilities to support various events. This new arena will be the new home of the Gatineau Olympiques and will be connected to a community rink with three ice pads. The complex also includes a three-storey restaurant, which opens onto the street at ground floor level.

This new community facility is the result of the City of Gatineau’s desire to consolidate the cultural offering in the heart of an urban centre. Indeed, the new complex, strategically located opposite the Maison de la Culture and the Place des festivals, opens onto this urban centre in order to consolidate its fabric and complete the diversity of cultural offerings for citizens. This important project for the city’s vitality was designed to be both accessible by public transit and bicycle, while being close to major vehicular access.

A second mandate consists in the design and construction of an 800-space parking garage (four floors) adjacent to the complex, with a provision for a future aerial pedestrian connection between the parking structure and the sports complex.
