A49 Eastern Ontario is proud to announce that Marc Gauthier of the Cornwall, ON office has achieved his Registered Specification Writer (RSW) designation with Construction Specifications Canada (CSC).
The RSW designation is the highest and most respected designation a Specification Writer can obtain in Canada. Currently there are only 72 RSW’s in all of Canada with only about 40 of those actively involved in the business.
“It’s amazing how the power of a simple suggestion made five years ago to pursue the RSW designation can become a reality once your mind accepts the idea of being challenged. Achieving the CSC certification would not have been possible without the support of the A49 family throughout this wonderful journey.” Marc Gauthier
Obtaining the RSW designation requires:
- Completion of formal training courses in Construction Contract Administration and Specification Writing.
- A minimum 4500 hours of experience in the preparation and writing of Specifications.
- A minimum 1000 hours of construction administration experience.
- Preparation of a Master Specification.
- Preparation of a research paper and Specification.
- Completion of multiple industry exams.
The RSW program is available to those who prepare or supervise the preparation of construction specifications. This is a recognition of the commitment to maintain the highest standards of quality documentation as well as recognition by peers, the construction industry, and employers.
Marc joins only two other A49 staff members across Canada with the RSW designation; Brian Colgan in Halifax and Brad McWilliam in Ottawa (CENTRUS).
Congratulations to Marc on his outstanding achievement!
