Building Brighter Futures, Indspire Graphic

Architecture49 is committed to truth, reconciliation and to Call to Action 92. As we continue along this journey of learning, self-reflection, and action, we are excited to announce a new partnership with Indspire, and creation of the Architecture49 Indigenous Student Scholarship. Indspire is a national Indigenous registered charity that invests in the education of First Nations, Inuit and Métis people, enabling success through financial awards, resources, and role models.

The award, created through the Building Brighter Futures Program, will serve as a pillar of support for Indigenous students pursuing post-secondary studies in the fields of architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, planning, and design technology.

Indspire ranks among the Top 10 Impact Charities in Canada, generating an average social return of $5 for every dollar invested. We are delighted to emphasize that, due to federal fund-matching, each dollar pledged by A49 will ripple into an estimated $10 in social value.

Empowering Indigenous students through education is a shared responsibility. With the launch of the Architecture49 Indigenous Student Scholarship, we are proud to take on a role that enables the pursuit of learning journeys, goal achievement, and realized aspirations. We believe that education is the cornerstone of positive change and are excited to see the transformative impact that this award will have on the lives of students, their communities, and our profession. Scott Stirton, President and CEO, Architecture49

Since 1996, Indspire has provided over $217 million in financial support through more than 66,000 bursaries, scholarships and awards to First Nations, Inuit and Métis students in Canada to assist in the completion of their post-secondary education.

The award is available to Indigenous students in pursuit of post-secondary architectural education at accredited institutions across Canada. Upcoming scholarship deadlines are November 1, 2023, February 1, 2024, and August 1st, 2024. APPLY HERE
