Architecture49 team members will be contributing to several conferences in the coming week, sharing insights on climate-responsive design, infrastructure delivery, and community-centred planning.
Kicking things off in Winnipeg, Sarah Chernis will present at the Construction Specifications Canada annual conference, alongside our project partners, sharing lessons from The Leaf. Her session explores how design and technology can be integrated to balance extreme interior and exterior climates, drawing on the project’s innovative approach to creating and maintaining diverse indoor environments.
In Toronto, Gina Daneshgar will join the Urban Transit Infrastructure Symposium to speak on the evolution of procurement models for large-scale transit projects. Presenting alongside project partners, the session highlights how more collaborative approaches can strengthen project outcomes, support more effective risk-sharing, and create the conditions for innovation, with insights drawn from the Union Station Enhancement Project.
At the Environmental Research Design Association Conference in Amherst, Massachusetts, Catherine Hefler and Laura Day will present on the New Waterford Hub in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Their session examines how integrated, community-focused design can support long-term regional sustainability and well-being, bringing together education, health, and community services in a single, collaborative environment shaped by local needs.
Together, these sessions reflect the range of work underway across the firm, and an opportunity to contribute to conversations alongside colleagues and partners across the industry.
