The Grand Prix du Design Awards, a prestigious platform celebrating excellence and creativity in design, has selected Sarmad Al-Mashta to join the distinguished panel of jurors for the 2024 edition. Born and educated in Baghdad, Iraq, began his career in architecture working for firms in Jordan prior to immigrating to Canada. . He worked for 20 years in Montreal before relocating to Vancouver. One of Sarmad's qualities is that he excels at both design and digital project delivery. The ability to balance these two strengths is a trait not often possessed by architects. His desire to continue growing, learning, and expanding his knowledge after over 28 years in the field is another admirable quality. As a visionary architect, he has consistently demonstrated a commitment to pushing the boundaries of design, creating spaces that seamlessly blend aesthetics with functionality and sustainability.

Expressing gratitude for the appointment, Sarmad Al-Mashta stated, “I've consistently admired the excellence of the winning projects.
