This facility is designed to provide administrative office space for the Inuit-owned regional landholding corporation with additional leasable spaces for start-up businesses and government agencies. In addition there is a conference room designed to accommodate a 50 person round-table or up to 150 persons in plenary format.
The design concept has been strongly influenced by considerations for views, arctic sun orientation and intense prevailing wind conditions. Wood has been selected for its aesthetic qualities, its ease of handling and for its thermal performance characteristics. Heavy-timber framing technology is employed.
