Cornwall Hospital Mental Health & Addictions Centre, Cornwall, Ontario
This project brings together existing CCH outpatient mental services, Withdrawal Management services and Addiction Services of Eastern Ontario under a “co-location” model by constructing a new building on CCH’s McConnell site. The former Hotel Dieu convent building on the site was demolished in order to accommodate the new CCH building and parking requirements.
The co-location in this new building combines services that were previously offered at three different sites in Cornwall and will reduce wait times while providing patients in Eastern Ontario – Child and Youth Mental Health Services, Community Withdrawal Management Services, Assertive Community Treatment: (ACT), Adult Counselling Treatment, Mental Health, Crisis Team/Peer Support, Geriatric Mental Health Services, and Addiction Services.
Sustainability features include:
- Public Transit incentives/access

- Central Courtyard with passive solar design to maximize visual comfort & reduce energy use
- Integrated Design Process – a holistic approach to high performance building design and construction. Project team shared a vision of sustainability, and worked collaboratively to implement sustainability goals. This process enabled the team to optimize systems, reduce operating and maintenance
