Through the planning, design and construction of a multi-functional complex next to BC Place in downtown Vancouver, the utmost priority was one shared by all developments in the city—a design that protects the city’s sightline to the Coast Mountains.
“In a highly design and eco-conscious city, our work began from the vantage point of Vancouver’s Cambie Bridge—and in making sure that our complex would blend with the mountain skyline. From the very first development assessments, we made sure that the legacy of the urban resort would hold true to the spirit, values and cultural aesthetic of the Pacific Northwest.”
The project balanced detailed requirements and guidelines from many stakeholders, including a Paragon Casino, two luxury hotels which include a JW Marriott (350 guestrooms) and the Douglas, an Autograph Collection Hotel (200 guestrooms). Both hotels provide access to the casino and a wide range of amenities like restaurants and lounges, meeting and event spaces, spa and health center, and a major indoor parking structure.
