A49 have completed designs of the Ajax pedestrian bridge that will provide access across a municipal road to allow for the safe passage of pedestrians between two large parking areas.
This bridge is part of the Regional Transportation plan which aims to transform transportation in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area and is to become a key feature of the Ajax GO Station site. The bridge will define and enhance vistas from the approach to the site and through a “see through” transparency of the built
form will maximize visibility of the Dufferin Creek Conservation Area. Simple and elegant, contemporary and unique bridge structure incorporates an innovative geometry and lightness of the supporting structural system.
A49’s design provides for fluid and efficient pedestrian circulation, integrating built form into the site context and landscaping as well as incorporating simple materials, such as metal, glass, ceramics and concrete, all in line with GO brand standards.
