Architecture49 was awarded an Award of Excellence by the Grand Valley Construction Association for contributing to the Meridian Centre with Ball Construction. The building won in the Commercial category with over $20 million in construction fees.
The Meridian Centre is a spectator facility located in St. Catharines, Ontario designed and built by the Construction design –build team of Ball Construction and Architecture49. It is grounded in the City’s rich downtown history and has become a major catalyst in the City’s downtown revitalization strategies and aspirations. It was completed in 2014 and includes a u-shaped bowl with approximately 5000 seats as well as dressing rooms for home and visitor teams, concessions, retail space and a hall of fame.
